Naked Aurora intruder who was shot by homeowner has lengthy arrest record in Colorado
A 26-year-old man, an intruder in an Aurora home who was naked and attacking a child and who was shot by the owner of the home, had a long arrest record in Colorado.
Dajon Harper of Denver was killed early Monday at 10609 E. Montview Blvd., according to the Adams County coroner’s office. Harper was pronounced dead at the scene, the coroner said. The cause and manner of his death remain under investigation.
Harper was attacking an 11-year-old in the basement of the home when he was shot by Richard “Gary” Black Jr., in Black’s home. Black was then fatally shot by an Aurora police officer.
The incident remains under investigation.
Harper has a lengthy arrest record in the state, according to Colorado Bureau of Investigation records. He used the aliases: “Harper Boy Killa” and “Harper Chaos Lil,” according to CBI records.
In 2011, Harper was arrested in Denver in an attempted-murder case, records show. The attempted-murder charge and a child abuse charge in the same case were dropped by prosecutors, but he was found guilty of a weapons offense by a prior juvenile offender. Harper was sentenced to two years of probation.
In 2012 in Denver, Harper was arrested on suspicion of felony assault, menacing with a deadly weapon. In 2013, Harper was guilty in an Aurora case of felony assault, menacing with a weapon. He was sentenced to three years in the state Department of Corrections.
In 2016 in Denver, Harper was guilty of misdemeanor theft; he was sentenced to 180 days in jail. He was jailed last year in Denver on a parole violation.
